Interior Design with Decor-Rest & Para Paints

By Coco

I have always loved interior design since I was a kid -maybe because my dad is a designer…

I loved helping my him pick paint colors and I loved furniture shopping. So last week when I attended Decor-Rest & Para Paints upcoming trends event I was so excited!

The Canadian manufacturer, Decor-Rest is located in Woodbridge and trust me, it is worth the drive. They have one of the biggest showrooms (for industry trades, retailers and registered interior designers) I have ever seen and some of the most beautiful mirrors, tables and fabrics.  I learned that the 2013 forecasted color trends are Blue,Teal and Navy together -very Greek island style- Green and Chartreuse, Purple and Violet (always popular) and pops of Orange and Yellow.

Some of the interior design trends that I came across are mixing and matching old with new,  adding pops of color and texture as well as trying to tell a story about who you are through the decor in your home.

I have always been a fan of hanging up random pictures and art work that means something to me. I also like mixing colors and texture and as Toronto is getting so cold and grey it’s nice to have some cheery pops of color in your home.
To find out which retailer near you carries Decor-Rest products email info@decor-rest.com.  Visit  www.decor-rest.com to see more about what they offer.
Let us know if you love interior design and if you have been decorating your home if you have any tips in a comment.

Cheers!
Tara

  1. I love interior design too. I am always browsing Houzz.com for inspiration & ideas to revamp my place!

I’m getting into interior design as well! ^
However, I’m currently in a rut because I simply cannot get over the carpet in my house.
I’m seriously thinking of changing the whole upstairs to hardwood floors but the $$$ is so off putting.
Every time I put some nice furniture upstairs or I change the paint colour I have momentary happiness and then I look down on the ugly beige carpet and all of that happiness just disappears LOL.

  3. Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after browsing through some of the articles I realized it’s new to me. Nonetheless, I’m certainly delighted I came across it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back regularly!
