Tips On How To Make A Sweet Table from Event Expert Melissa Andre

By Coco

When I was thinking of ideas for Harlowe’s first birthday I was at a loss.  She wasn’t obsessed with any character or particular colour yet so I was lost for a theme.  I also knew I didn’t want to go bananas for her birthday because she would most likely spend most of the party sleeping or crying and ultimately forget that the event even went on (aka this event would be strictly for my benefit).  With that in mind all I really knew was that I wanted it to be pretty, whimsical and fun (and without too much pink, my feminist studies classes have rendered it impossible for me to cover my daughter in hot pink….   maybe she will thank me later??)

Enter my good friend, Melissa Andre.  With little input from me (except easy on the hot pink) she put together the sweetest birthday for Harlowe complete with personalized straws and insanely adorable mini menus – thanks to Paper and Poste who worked with Melissa on the stationery, so adorable!  She also created a sweet table like no other.  Her team put it all under a magical stripped awning that I left up for days after, hoping they would forget about it so I could keep it in my place forever.

While we were putting this shindig together the blogger in me couldn’t help but think of a way to make a post out of it all so we decided to it would be awesome if Melissa could share some of her insider tips on how to put together the sweetest of sweet tables.

Check out the video!

Thanks so much Melissa and your incredible team!!!
