Outdoor Living Spaces

With spring in the air, and the clocks literally about to “spring forward,” I am currently obsessing over warm weather, green grass, sunscreen and and most importantly to any interior designer — Outdoor Living Spaces.

Beaten down by snow, wet feet and frozen temperatures, these outdoor spaces are a breath of fresh air.

Some tips for your own outdoor oasis:

Black Is The New Green:

Black is the new Green

Nothing is better then mixing bright, lush foliage with moody black hues. Opt for black garden furniture, outdoor flooring, or black upholstery to give your outdoor space a unique on trend edge.

The Sky’s the Limit:

Vertical Gardens, or hanging greenery is a MASSIVE trend for covet-worthy outdoor spaces. If you’re going to invest in one thing this summer season, make it a vertical garden.

Built Ins:

Maximize space in small gardens or condo balconies with built-in seating. This will make any small space instantly feel like a custom lounge and allows for a truly personal touch regardless of the size limits.

Unexpected Furnishings:

Wait, are we outside or inside? Using unexpected furnishings for your outdoor space, which are typically evocative of indoor spaces, is a surefire way to make your outdoor space uber cool. Tip: Just make sure the furniture you use is ACTUALLY intended for indoor/outdoor use.
