Now for the cocktail!
An Old Cuban is the perfect celebratory cocktail. It’s strong, yet sweet and what screams holiday’s more than bubbles?
Here’s our favourite recipe!:
6 mint leaves
1 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz of fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz of Mount Gay rum (or a dark rum that you enjoy)
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
2 oz of sparkling wine or champers
Pop lime, simple syrup and lime juice in a shaker and bruise the mint with a muddler or spoon
Add rum, bitters and ice to the shaker and shake hard for around 10 seconds
Strain into a pretty coup or cocktail glass and top of with some champers or some sparkling wine
We styled our table with sweets from CConfectionary highlighting our current favourite offering, DONUTS! They don’t only look delicious they taste insanely good (and not only because we make them. Swear). The large tumbler/vases that we got from West Elm are actually made from wax and glow beautifully at night when you put a candle in them. We got the sparkly branches from Michaels and the pineapples (gotta have pineapples) from BYOB. We also used a throw from West Elm for the table cloth to get that warm fuzzy feeling in the perfect soft pink and got the hanging terrarium vases from CB2.
