Yesterday we hosted our first kiddie event with Raising Artists and it was a huge success! It was so nice finally getting a chance to meet a bunch of our readers and their littles, getting all crafty and creating beautiful works of art.
Like Crystal alluded to and I’ve said before, though being a mother/parent is amazing, it (like anything worthwhile) comes with incredible challenges and at many times we’re forced to put our best face forward and not address the real issues that plague us and leave us feeling far less than ‘parent of the year’.
We wanted to host this class to create a welcoming safe space for kids and parents alike to meet, chat and connect on a real level. Our art event was only our first and we hope to do many more. If you have any ideas of places we could meet up or events you’d like to attend, leave us a comment or shoot me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll get working on our next event.
Thanks again to Raising Artists for putting on such a phenomenal event and to all of the mothers (fathers, you’re so invited so don’t be shy!) and kiddies who made it out in the rain and sleet for a little morning bursting with creativity.
