So if you’ve been living under a rock (like me) you have yet to notice that Rexall’s have been quietly popping up around our city in all of their minty teal glory. When I stumbled in last week and unglued my eyes from my phone I was totally taken aback by the brightly lit and stunning beauty department that greeted me at the entrance.
I love beauty products and especially love the finds that you can uncover at the greatest prices at drugstores but there’s something different about Rexall. With the drugstore faithful’s all represented and a handful of trending brands like NYX it’s a beauty fanatic’s playground complete with helpful beauty experts there to help you find your perfect product match.
I had recently been on set and a makeup artist created a smokey eye on me that I knew I had to recreate for the perfect Holiday look so I played around with a few products (Rexall’s cosmetician encourage you to test out their products!) and fell for two palates, one by Revlon and the other by ELF. I also picked up one of my fave bronzers that I haven’t been able to find anywhere and a Revlon matte lip colour that I loved the texture of.
To get the look I first started by covering my face with Revlon’s Air Brush Effect foundation to even out my skin tone and then began working on my dramatic smokey eye. To get a look with more depth I started with a base of deep brown and then built in more depth with a shimmery black in my crease and around the edges. I lined my lashes and water line with Cover Girls’ water resistant liquid liner. Once I was done with building my eyes I filled in my brow’s with NYX’s Micro Brow Pencil and got crazy with my mascara.
I then concealed my dark circles with Revlon’s Photo Ready Concealer and did a bit of contouring with NYX’s Cream Highlight & Contour palate. I lined my lips with Revlon’s ColorStay lip liner and filled it in with that delicious matte lip colour I was talking about.
Beauty can be intimidating but at Rexall’s Inspired beauty department it is anything but. I had an amazing time testing out colours to help create my look and was thrilled that I was able to achieve it without having to invest tons of money in products that might not have worked.
