Oscars Red Carpet Faves

Janelle Monae - Elie Saab

The award season ended last night with a bang (in more ways than one) and it started on the Oscars red carpet. From Taraji’s blue velvet perfection, to Viola Davis’ “here I am to win” dress, everyone came dressed to impress.

The major trends seen last night were black, a lot of white, gold and fringe, but if anyone knocked it out of the park and entered with a big bang, it was Janelle Monáe. This singer- songwriter and actress is known for wearing what most won’t and I love her for it. She has been killing it and last night from top to bottom she was perfect! Her hair, that headpiece, her makeup (those browsss) and the dress- I mean, she was everything! The Elie Saab number she wore came straight off the runway—a dress that was different in every way, and a dress that looked like it was made for her.

Here are my faves from last night:

And the men! Can we talk about them for a minute? How dapper do they look?

I absolutely love a man in a well-tailored suit and they brought out the best for this red carpet. I also love how they added a little flair to their fits. They all looked so handsome (well, most of them who actually groomed themselves…) Another trend: facial hair. To be honest, I love some scruff!

Dev Patel - Burberry
