Rocking Out With My Team

By Coco

Starting a new business and gaining momentum has been exciting but also jam packed with work –  work for me and work for my team. Work, work, work, work, work! Cue dancers. Because of that AND because of our subpar summer weather, I was on the hunt for something fun for all of us to do. When sifting through my endless inbox, I was happily surprised to stumble upon an Amex Access Alert for one of my favourite bands EVER. IN. LIFE.

When I came back to my senses, heart slowly returning back to a normal pace, I checked to see which tickets were available. To those of you who don’t know, Access Alerts is this cool feature available to all American Express Canada Cardmembers. You get notifications about some of the best shows and events directly to your phone, making you among the first to know what’s going down in your city. In my case, it was tickets to the Coldplay concert. Front Of The Line (another Amex feature) did exactly what the name implies: it brought me to the front of the line, allowing me to get tickets before everyone else.

I decided that it was not only meant to be for me to go to this concert, but since the girls in my office are also major fans, I went ahead and purchased tickets for all of us. Team bonding can be forced and cheesy, but team bonding at a concert for a band that we all love equally, was nothing of the sort.

A few weeks ago, the time came for us to go to the concert, which was perfect. The workload has continued to be heavy, so a night out was just what we needed. Our seats were incredible – placed in a block of seats reserved exclusively for American Express – though we didn’t sit down once. We sang at the top of our lungs, we danced, we jumped, we had the time of our lives.

Perks are awesome but when they help to make memories that you will never forget, they are everything.

xx,

Coco
