Your New Go-To Smoothie Recipe

A smoothie is one of my favourite ways to start the day! With all the nutrients, I jam pack into my Nutri Bullet, it makes for an adequate meal replacement for a girl on the go, and an especially satisfying sip post-workout!

I present to you… the ultimate Date Almond Smoothie.

  Ingredients:

3/4 c. almond milk (I like it thiccc)

1 ½ ripe, frozen banana

3 pitted dates

1 hearty tbsp. of almond butter

2 tbsp. cocoa

½ ripe avocado

Dash of cinnamon

There is a technique to this smoothie thing, let me tell you! I like to blend all the ingredients together except for the almond butter, because I find it tends to stick when nothing has been blended yet. I blend everything but the almond butter for about 45 seconds and then I add a generous helping of almond butter and finish blending for an additional 30ish seconds!

There you have it! You won’t want to stop sipping on this energy booster. This recipe reminds me a lot of the Almond Cacao from Kupfert and Kim- one of my ultimate faves! I’ve never incorporated avocado until recently and I find it really makes a huge difference in the smoothie’s texture and consistency- much creamier and velvety (nom nom).

Smoothies were becoming a daily expense for me and let me tell you, it adds up! Now that I’ve mastered my own recipe, I thought it’d be a crime for me not to share.
