Since I’m such a movie fan I thought it was time to host my own Oscar party.  While planning over this long weekend I thought I would put together a post of some of the things that I plan to feature at my party – including the best homemade popcorn recipe and our first ever downloadable Oscar Trivia ballot.  So fun!

Trivia:

No party is really a party without some good old fashioned competition.  We’ve made up some downloadable Oscar ballots for you to print off and give out to your guests.  Have them fill out their picks before the show starts and at the end tally up the answers and the guest with the most correct wins!  You can purchase a replica Oscar for the winner or make them a crown!

Oscar Worthy Snack:

Buttered popcorn is always good but why not jazz it up?  It IS the Oscars!

Signature Cocktail:

Ruby Red Champers!

Ingredients:

2 Ruby Red Grapefruits

1/4 cup of sugar

1 bottle of champagne (chilled)

Using a veggie peeler remove peel of one grapefruit and place it in a bowl.  Cut grapefruits in half and squeeze enough juice to measure 1 cup.  Mix juice and sugar in with the peels and let stand for around 5 minutes.  Strain into a bowl.  Pour 2-3 tablespoons of the grapefruit mixture into the bottom of your champagne glasses and slowly and evenly add your champagne.
