Wedding Wednesday: Best Engagement Everrrrr
Popping the question. We all, at some time or another growing up, think about how it will happen to us. I remember at one point I was so into the idea of my future husband proposing on a jumbotron. Then I became a teenager and got weird and hated public displays of anything and was repulsed by the idea that I used to hope for a little Cinderella action from my beau-to-be. When I eventually fell in real love I stopped thinking about the who, what, where and why and was just absolutely thrilled when my then boyfriend proposed in a way that was so, well, us. It was private and awkward, yet beautifully sweet in an incredibly opulent setting. It was perfect, for no one else but us.
When I saw this video it made me bawl my eyes out think about the fun of getting engaged and brought back all of those magical moments.
Do you have a cool engagement story? Let us know!

My Engagements Story…. Sigh….
In celebration of Mrs. Farrell’s ( Hackim’s Mom) 50th Birthday, both the Farrell and Guerra family together with their closest friends, went on a seven day cruise to the Caribbean. The cruise stopped in Ocho Rios, Jamaica (which was the main request of the Birthday girl). Hackim informed everyone on the cruise that while in Jamaica they would be having a special toast for his mother on land at 1:30 pm. Aquila knew this would be difficult because everyone in their party had alternate excursions planned.
Once the boat docked in Jamaica, Hackim reminded everyone of the toast at 1:30 pm. Of course, some did not show up, but Aquila made sure that she was present. Around 3:00 pm Aquila and her BFF, Elise were ready to return to the boat. It was HOT and the two of them were tired and extremely hungry. Hackim quickly instructed Aquila and Elise to stay on land instead of returning to the boat. Elise suggested that Aquila return to the boat, change, and then return on land. Aquila complied and did exactly what was asked.
Once she returned on the shores of Jamaica, Elise ( who was definitely in on it) excused herself to the washroom. Hackim then told Aquila that Elise was calling her ( weird eh?). Aquila, being dazed and confused from the heat of the sun, ran into the bathroom, but was then told the Elise was actually not calling her. Upon Aquila’s return to the restaurant, Hackim suggested that they go for a walk on the beach.
While walking on the shore, Aquila remembered that they would have to pay to go ontp the beach. Though she continuously reminded her frugal boyfriend of this fact, he still insisted that they go on the beach. Aquila complied once again not knowing that there was more to come…
Hackim turned to her, grabbed both of her hands, and with his Raybans on, told her that he loved her-we won’t go into details here
. He dropped on one knee and presented Aquila with a mahogany box which held the sparkler she wears now .Good thing Aquila had her sunglasses on as the sparkler, sparkled! Yes, she replied and decadent love shined through once again.
Thanks to the Elise and Jeffrey For being a part of our moment.
