Get Gifting (Or Receiving) With The Gift Network

Firstly, to those of you who are getting married in the coming months and those of you who have recently gotten engaged, CONGRATULATIONS! YaY!

Secondly, have you heard of The Gift Network?  Unfortunately when I got hitched TGN wasn’t around.  Most of our collective family don’t live in the greater Toronto area (let alone the country) which made registering to a local store a little difficult.  Well, that and I couldn’t think of only one store that I would want things from.

The cool thing about TGN is that you can build your registry by picking from over 100 stores across Toronto and not be beholden to one or two department stores AND do it all online!  You simply login, make your selections and share your link with your guests.  Plus, if you’ve picked a higher ticket item, guests can opt to ‘chip in’ that way a bunch of people can team up to get you things that you actually need for your new love nest.  Sweet!

They are host to some of Toronto’s top home furnishing stores as well as spas, galleries and more.

If you’re getting hitched (or just dreaming about it) TGN is a fun & convenient way to get exactly what you want and need.  PLUS there are no fees and you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to do it.

Shop!: Sauvage Pop-Up Store Grand Opening

Last night, Fae and I stopped by the grand opening of the new Sauvage Pop-Up Store. Sauvage is a women’s footwear, bag and jewelry store curated by Jaya Kahlon.

The store is stocked with an array of Spring / Summer contemporary international brands such as Elizabeth & James, H by Hudson and Bryna Nicole. Prices for the merchandise range from $150 to $ 370, depending on the item.

I fell madly in love with a pair of lace-up flats that would be ideal for my annual Paris excursion.

If you’re in Toronto, I encourage to stop by and check out their merchandise.

Shop!: A Twist On The Original; Spike Friendship Bracelets (new to our shop)

I’ve been rocking with my arm party for quite some time now and when I saw these spike friendship bracelets I knew I had to make room for them.

Made by my instagram friend Lauren in sunny california, they are a fun twist on the original and can jazz up any outfit that’s suffering from a case of the ‘blahs’.

Being that I love them so much I’ve decided to sell them in our Online Store.  I wanted to wait until the site was completely re-hauled, but at the rate of speed that we’re working on that, I’d probably lose them before they went up….

They retail for $22.00 plus shipping and come in the colours above (limited quantities)

The colours are described as follows in the store (just so it’s not too confusing)

purple & green – 4 spikes

orange & blue – 3 spikes

pink/green/yellow – 4 spikes

purple & white – 3 spikes

orange & gold – 4 spikes

5 Spots: Coffee in Toronto

Over the past five years it has become increasingly easier to satiate my coffee addiction with the independent coffee purveyor boom here in Toronto.  At first finding a place that served a stiff americano accompanied by a dollop of frothy Almond Milk was a stretch, now they’re everywhere   a little easier to find.

Here are my current faves and although they don’t always have a full supply of Almond Milk, they DO have great coffee, cute & cozy atmospheres & friendly staff:

La Merceria: sweetest coffee/gift shop with delicious empanadas.  Constance is my favourite Barista, always making me laugh with his perfect deadpan sense of humour.

Thor: Nicest baristas/owners who often make my Americano complete with an almond milk heart.  AND they remember my name, every time.

Nadege: (for more than just the coffee… obvi)

Little Nicky’s: They have FRESH mini donuts.  Need I say more?

White Squirrel: Coffee, ice cream and a social conscience.  Nice.

Any others that you love?

obsessed: Inner Message Rings

How adorable?

Inspired by a Korean song that’s lyrics tell the tale of a broken hearted man who removes a ring from his ex lover only to find a tan line that won’t wash away, Inner Message Rings hidden messages leave an impression on your finger and I just swoon at the romance.

I love LOVE!

The rings come in gold and silver and can have a heart or say Marry Me or Always.

Available HERE for $120 – $780
