I thought it would be appropriate to close this year’s Paris trip (sniff, sniff) with Women of Style feature. Paris is the capital for some of the most stylish women I’ve seen and Haleigh, is no exception.
Coco told me a while ago that she absolutely adored Haleigh’s blog Making Magique and that I had to read it. Coco & I have extremely similar taste so I knew that if she enjoyed this blog I would as well, and she was right!
Making Magique is the online diary of an American girl (Haleigh) living in Paris. Her photos are visually alluring and beautiful. When going through her site, you not only get a glimpse of her life in the City of lights but you sort of feel like you’re experiencing the “Magique” with her.
Haleigh’s style is girly with a mix of her native California laid-back cool combined a very Parisian chic esthetic. Her style is not complicated, it just is.
Meet Haleigh Walsworth, our latest woman of style. Bisous, Winy

Occupation: Community Manager & Digital Strategist
Current city: Paris, France
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Southern California. Mostly Santa Barbara and Newport Beach.
How would describe your style?
Above all, playful. I am never committed too much to one look because I just wear what I like, and it’s constantly changing. Above all it’s a mix of my relaxed and casual California roots that I try to tone down with a more Parisian understated sensibility.
Your go-to brands and why?
My favorite brands for accessories are Miu Miu. Half my shoes and purses are Miu Miu. It’s a good balance of high fashion without being too serious, which suits my style sensibility. For knitwear I think I wear Wildfox Couture almost every single day. Their ultra-soft tees are impossible to not want to throw on every day, and their thin knit sweaters are amazing for layering without a bulky look.
Your favourite wardrobe piece and why?
My favorite thing in my wardrobe are my black motorcycle boots. My style is really juxtaposed, and I tend to love feminine colors and cuts for my clothing. Simple black leather motorcycle boots are my most go-to shoe that really balances out my look. The contrast of feminine and masculine with good tailoring and rock n’ roll twist is a very Parisienne look. Next to that it’s my boyfriend jeans in a medium wash…I don’t know what I would do without those!
The beauty product you can’t live without ?
Maybelline’s 10 hour tint gloss. I normally don’t like gloss because I wear my hair down and very long and tends to stick to gloss if I wear it. This one however is amazing as it’s water based and thus not too sticky, tastes wonderful, comes in so many pretty colors, and really does last a long time.
A beauty secret your mom or grandma told you that you use?
Eye makeup remover! Be nice to your eyes…don’t rub them and invest in the best quality of eye makeup remover. This will prevent wrinkles and keep us looking young.
Your Summer 2012 must haves?
Jellies (revival trend!), a pinup style one piece, and a great pair of cat eye glasses.
Three words that describe your love affair with Paris?
Bittersweet and beautiful.
