Last week I spent some time with the BCBG Max Azria family during NYFW.
It was so cool getting a sneak peak from behind the scenes the day before the big BCBG show at the company’s head office in the middle of New York’s garment district. The office was full of hustle and bustle and as we waited to meet Lubov Azaria, Creative Director of all of the company’s 22 lines, we saw a stream of stunningly beautiful assistants, interns and head honchos running around in sky high heels, dressed in the best combinations of what the brand has to offer. Needless to say, I felt like I was on the set of Devil Wears Prada (minus the crazy Meryl Streep character) and in the most heavenly people watching position. I could have stayed for hours.
We briefly met with Lubov , who is not only strikingly beautiful, she’s incredibly friendly and was gracious to give us some of her time when we knew she barely had seconds to spare.
(unfortunately *no pictures please* was the word and we obliged. Good bloggers!)
That night we attended a dinner hosted by the BCBG PR team at Gemma in The Bowery Hotel. De-lish!
The show took place the next morning at 10am and we arrived early to get our seats and take in the magic of the Lincoln Centre during Fashion Week.
I’ve always been a BCBG fan, and have many pieces in my closet to prove it, but seeing the collection on the runway was a whole different story. Leather, lace, bondage and hints of colour blocking were centre stage all brought together with fabulous silks that sashayed magically down the catwalk.
On Saturday afternoon it was back to Lincoln Centre for another BCBG Max Azria show, this time the celebrity favourite, Herve Leger. The harnesses from the BCBG show made a reappearance adding a new dimension to their coveted dresses and the swimwear was so detailed and absolutely swoon worthy.
Another packed house, another fantastic show!
Being at Fashion Week seven month pregnant was certainly a different experience, but seeing all of the fantastic options that S/S 13 has to offer just gives me more motivation to get back in shape!
