Happy (Thanksgiving) Weekend

It isn’t Thanksgiving for everyone this weekend, but for us Canadians it is, so Happy Thanksgiving, Canada!

This picture is obviously completely unrelated to Thanksgiving but it made me die with laughter so I couldn’t resist. via

This weekend I’ve been putting together my hospital bag, as I’ve been threatened within an inch of my life (by complete strangers, I might add) to have it ready as I am in my final stages of pregnancy.  Apparently, these little guys have a tendency to pop out early….   I’ve also tried out some recipes from my new Sweet Paul magazine that I picked up at La Merceria (in LOVE ) and did some Fall decorating in my condo (posts to follow).  We had the big family Thanksgiving fest at my parent’s place last night.  It was extra special because it was the first time my entire family was together in four years!  Plus the brood has expanded with a nephew and niece so it was full of activity.

I’m so thankful for my family and friends and all of you for being loyal readers and sharing your stories with me along the way.  Like I’ve said, Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday because without the pressure of gift giving you really get a chance to celebrate all that you’re thankful for in life and I couldn’t be more grateful so, THANK YOU!

I hope you’re enjoying your long weekend (Happy Monday to all of you who don’t have Thanksgiving today) and if you have some extra time, here are some links to what I’ve been reading:

This made me think a little deeper about beauty and gave a good perspective

Can’t wait to see this movie

How nice would it be to be HERE this weekend?

This Celene bag is a heart breaker

Speaking of Celine, are we digging the new ‘lunch bag‘ and slipper vibe from their S/S 13 collection?

Lena Dunham can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes and now she’s shopping a book (that I’m sure she ACTUALLY wrote) and I can’t wait to read it!!

Stuck on a centerpiece for Thanksgiving?  Who else do you turn to but Martha?

Despite the critics, I’m giving J.K. Rowling’s new book, A Casual Vacancy, a go.  Have any of you read it?

You know about my favorite shades for Fall, don’t forget to enter our Revlon contest.

Loblaws is accepting donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank this weekend so if you’re doing some Thanksgiving shopping giving back is as easy as filling a bag for a family in need and leaving it in the bin on your way out.  You can also drop off donations to The Daily Bread on Monday (today).

Jay-z opened The Barclays Centre in Brooklyn with a series of concerts last week and had This to say.

So many good films to be seen at Doc Soup!
