Wedding Wednesday: The Bride Wore Pink

As you know, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tied the knot in Italy back in October.  The photos have been releasing since November 5th with spreads in People and Hello.  The bride wore an exquisite pink custom Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown which thumbed it ever so lightly to tradition.

Although Jessica Biel is not the first bride to ditch the idea of a white wedding, her beautiful dress got me thinking about non-traditional dresses and how fun they can be.

Here are some of my favorites from the past:

Reese Witherspoon goes for blush in Monique Lhuillier:

Gwen Stefani dip dyed in Dior:

Amber Tamblyn rocked yellow lace:

SJP wore black and although she says she regrets it, I do think she looks quite chic:

Another bride who wore black was Marilyn Monroe who wore a suit when she wed Joe DiMaggio:

While we’re on the topic of suits (although she did wear white) Bianca Jagger’s white suite sans bra look has to be one of my favorites of all time:

I know many cultures have never worn white, but wonder if any of you  ditched Western tradition and wore (or plan to wear) a wedding dress that isn’t white? Let me know in a comment, I would love to know.

I think if I could do it again I would go blush or a soft metallic or maybe even red…

  1. I think the blush colour is GORGEOUS! I could totally see myself wearing that colour over white. Jessica’s dress is a beautiful colour as well but I don’t want to steer too far away from the traditional white. Therefore, blush it is!
