It was all glitz and glam at the Oscars the other night and I always look forward to seeing what the celebs are strutting down the red carpet in. From pale palettes to bold blues, here are some of the top trends from Hollywood’s biggest night.
Pretty Pales:
Soft, pale pinks was clearly the winning colour of the night — both Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence looked elegantly fresh in this pretty spring hue and walked away with the ultimate prize: an Oscar. Jennifer’s stunning, voluminous Dior gown was definitely my favourite look of the night. Amanda Seyfried also kept within the pale palette trend in an Armani Prive dress.
Metallic Shine:
From black, silver, and gold, metallics sparkled and shimmered on the likes of Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman and George Clooney’s best accessory, Stacey Keibler. They dazzled in an array of designs and textures that were intricate and simply stunning.
Red Hot:
Red can be tricky to pull off on the red carpet but Jennifer Aniston certainly did in her gorgeous Valentino gown that was the perfect bright red. Kerry Washington was also astounding in a beautiful coral dress by Miu Miu with an embellished crystal bodice.
Winter White:
Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Charlize Theron and Zoe Saldana rocked the crisp white look, and were bold and sexy. Charlize’s peplum was razor sharp and sculptural — another favourite of the night.
Bold Blues:
From electric to navy and even metallic, blues were popping up on the red carpet and making a bold statement. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Hudson, and Helen Hunt rocked the blues in rich hues that made them look sophisticated and elegant.

Tiffany
I’m a HUGE fan of the pretty pales. I really did not like a lot of the metallic dresses at the Oscars because they were so futuristic/geometric looking.
All of the metalics were perfection!
Charlize was one of my fav looks for the night.
