First was the press conference where we got to hear Louboutin and Donna Loveday (the curator of the exhibit) speak about their inspiration. Louboutin basically had me at Hello. Not only because he creates some of the most exquisite shoes on the planet, but because he oozed passion and it was beyond clear that he is doing what he was born to do. He told us that freedom is the most important thing to creating the work that he does and that his favorite part of the exhibit is being able to see all of the many pieces that he’s created over the last twenty years in one place.
We were then ushered upstairs where we got the first look at the exhibit. Wow again. So many shoes, so little time.
As a proud Torontonian I was excited to know not only is our little city the exhibit’s first stop in North America, but that Mr Louboutin has a special place for our city in this heart. As he said, “there’s just something about Toronto.” I couldn’t agree more!
The Christian Louboutin exhibit will be going on at the Design Exchange until Septenber 15th and if you’re as shoe obsessed as me (or just really enjoy design) I urge you to go check it out!
