They just know how to do things in France. Especially in the South. And when I say do things I mean, enjoy life. Hello, joie de vivre! It’s should then have been no surprise for me to discover that my new favorite past time, Apero, was created by the French and is a ritual in the South. A ritual that includes gathering with friends over delicious cocktails, yummy food and good conversation. Schedule me in!
There are a number of great cocktails that you can make to enjoy this summer ritual but as a lover of sangria The Lillet Sangria is one of my faves. Not only is it delicious, it’s easy to make for a crowd and it looks so perfectly summery.
Lillet was created in 1872 by the Lillet family and is the only aperitif to find it’s roots in Bordeaux. It was first sipped in the 20’s and 30’s on only very special occasions and became world famous when it was featured as James Bond’s drink of choice, The Vesper.
If you’re planning a gathering why not give the Lillet Sangria a try? Your guest will fall in love.
