5 Fave Summer Lipstick Colours! + Win A $50 Gift Card to The Bay *contest alert*

Saturday marked the first official day of summer which means it’s time to say goodbye to the subtly of Spring and say hello to bold brights!  That’s right, there’s no better time to get a little colour in your life than summer, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite bold lipstick shades with the hopes of encouraging you to try something new and if you’re a seasoned colour vet, maybe you’ll share your favorite shades with me in the comment section?

Lipstick fan or not, win a $50 Gift Card to The Bay (so you can pick up one of these shades for yourself) by leaving a comment with either your favorite summer lip colour or your favorite summer beauty product or trick and you’re entered to win!

Make sure to ‘like’ and ‘share’ this post too!

*contest open to Canadian entrants only*

NARS, Red Square:  Don’t let the name deceive you, this velvet matte lip pencil is more of a ‘ burnt orange’ than a red but it’s just the right summery shade for so many complexions.  I am literally obsessed with the matte lip pencils from NARS because they’re matte without being super drying so I was very excited when I found this colour.

 Clinique, Plushest Punch:

This Chubby Stick is light and moisturizing but – like the name indicates – packs a seriously colourful punch. I love the consistency of this guy, perfect to team up with a fresh, dewy face.

 MAC, Flat Out Fabulous:

And, we’re back to matte.  Clearly obsessed.  This vibrant plum colour is a summer version of the winter purples we all fell so in love with and it looks great on so many skin tones.

MAC, Candy Yum-Yum:

Next to Ruby Woo (MAC) and Dragon Girl (NARS) this colour is my ultimate.  It’s electric pink in the best kind of way and just totally pops when you have that nice sun kissed glow.  (This pic does not do it justice by the way.)

MAC, Relentlessly Red:

And finally what I like to refer to as my ‘summer red’.  A little more vibrant, a little more fresh, a little of a blue undertone and a little more of a pink – but still matte and magical.  Just the way I like it.
