Travel Tuesday: Taking Tokyo on Cloud 10

As an Amex Ambassador I get to experience first hand the benefits of packing an Amex in your wallet and when planning trips I make sure to find ways to take full advantage of all that being a Cardmember has to offer.

Amex recently did a ton of research to find out what travellers want, and what their travel plans are this summer, and the results are pretty interesting.  Summer travel bookings are up and Canadians plan to travel as frequently as possible this summer, whereas our American neighbours are planning one long trip.

London, Paris, Rome, New York, San Fran and LA are trending as top destinations while Hilton Head, Rio, Bucharest and Lima are catching up as emerging hot spots.

Travellers said that perks and upgrades were very important to them and I would have to agree.  My recent trip to Tokyo was made instantly sweeter when I was able to bypass the incredibly long security line and jump ‘Front Of The Line’ styles with a simple flash of my Platinum card.

Then once inside, I got to kick up my heels in comfort in the Amex lounge.  Complimentary Wifi, magazines and snacks, yes please!

Let’s just say, I was so comfortable that I almost missed my flight…  Whoops!

No wonder they call it Cloud 10.

Ever since I watched Lost In Translation I just knew that if I ever got to Tokyo, The Park Hyatt would be the hotel I had to stay in.  Luckily it’s part of Amex’s Fine Hotels & Resorts program, which not only meant a great rate, but complimentary champers upon check in and an upgraded room with the most insane view.  Making us quickly forget the harrowing seventeen-hour flight over.

Doing my best Scarlett as Charlotte…lol

With Cloud 10 benefits at Pearson airport, the Fine Hotels & Resorts program, and the Online Booking Tool (which you can easily book everything on) Amex inserts a little glamour back into travel.  Making every Cardmember feel like a VIP.

Stay tuned for a full recap of my Tokyo trip.  The city is so incredible and overwhelming I’m still digesting it and already dreaming of going back….
