Making Your Own Delicious Apple Cider Vinaigrette

I love a great salad but to me, nothing is a better compliment to a salad than a homemade dressing.  They can be complex but my simple concoctions that whip up in seconds are not only crazy delicious but also additive and preservative free – which do the body a whole lotta good!

Making salad dressings are super simple, just a good blend of some nice acidity (like apple cider vinegar or lemon) and some good quality oil like olive or grapeseed plus yummy fresh spices and you’re one step closer to yum town.  In the video I made an apple cider vinaigrette which I usually make to taste (without a recipe) but below is an idea of recipe.

Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Ingredients

3/4 cup of olive oil

1/4 cup of apple cider vinaigrette

1 tsp of honey

1-2 tbsp of Dijon mustard

1 clove of garlic

fresh herbs like oregano, thyme or basil

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

whisk Dijon, honey, vinegar, garlic

slowly add oil while whisking

add herbs

Like I said, freestyle it!  Switch up the sweetness – coconut sugar, agave – add a different vinegar like balsamic or rice wine, or even a different oil – avocado is delicious!

  1. Coco, this is like exactly my go-to salad dressing! When I read the ingredients in your recipe I was like oh my goodness, IDENTICAL! The measurements are different but the ingredients are spot on! I usually add different herbs every single time, depending on what’s available and what’s fresh. Everything else stays constant. Great minds think alike 😉 Hope you’re doing well, hun!
