When I found out I was travelling to Montreal for work courtesy of the good folks at Nespresso to attend the Rogers Cup I was thrilled. I know my fellow team members at Coco & Cowe have been to Montreal several times, but this was my first real Montreal experience. Knowing the trip was only one day and night, I knew that in this quick Montreal minute I had to make the best of my stay!
Here are my top five highlights:
1. A quick Porter flight
First things first, a trip to Montreal mid work week calls for a quick stop to the Coco & Cowe office before heading over to Billy Bishop Airport. We are practically neighbours, so it didn’t take me long. I must say I love love love flying Porter! Not only because the flights are super quick, but I love me some free salted almonds and diet coke in the Porter lounge. As soon as I hopped on my flight and settled in I pulled out one of my favourite reads Sophia Amoruso’s #GIRLBOSS for some positive motivation, grabbed some yummy exotic vegetable chips and red wine offered on the flight.
2. My stay at Hotel Le Germain
From the moment I touched down in Montreal I knew it was going to be a great experience. All of the influencers on behalf of Nespresso were awaited by a driver. He rallied up the troops and in a few separate cars we started our journey to Le Germain Hotel Montreal, a Coco & Cowe fave.
3. Dining at Restaurant Europea
After settling in, and taking a brisk walk to enjoy the culture of downtown Montreal, dinner reservations were soon approaching. A group of us on behalf of Nespresso were scheduled to dine at Restaurant Europea with Grande Chef Jerome Ferrer. The food at this place was to die for! And not to mention the presentation from start to finish was grand. Let’s just say the set menu, and all of the surprise dishes brought out along the course of dinner had my belly super content and super full. The lobster cappuccino with truffle puree was by far my most favourite dish on the menu. If you are in Montreal you have to make reservations here. It’s a must!
4. Experiencing Coupe Rogers in real time
I had never watched a match of tennis in real time, so this experience for me was a very exciting first. The first match was Novak Djokovic versus Jack Sock. Djokovic took control of the match and ended up winning. The second match was Gilles Mullet versus Andy Murray. The two went head to head and played a pretty solid match, but Murray ended up taking that one home! The sport of tennis is very entertaining to watch in person so now I know when next years Rogers Cup rolls around I will be sure to pick up some tickets and I suggest you do too!
5. Unlimited coffee in the Nespresso Lounge
The exceptional quality of Nespresso coffee does not go unnoticed, along with their exceptional hospitality. The Nespresso lounge was decorated so elegantly so although I wanted to be outside watching the tennis match, I also wanted to appreciate the the great taste and design that accompanied the lounge area. Not to mention, I think I tried every variation of coffee possible as the weather was a bit nippy, and the taste was just right. The aromas in Nespresso coffee are so distinct and tasteful and I must say I thoroughly enjoy finishing up my cup with the delicious hazelnut coloured “crema” that sits on top of the coffee. My absolute fave part!
I hope you enjoyed my Montreal minute!
