Yesterday Nike launched Nike.com in Canada making it possible for Canadians to finally get in on the online shopping game with Nike. This news, just in time for the holiday season, makes things like customizing shoes with Nike iD available to us – can you think of anything better for a gift than customized shoes? This shoe addict can’t!
The site was launched, Nike style; big, bold and with a killer workout. Taking over a parking lot at John and Richmond, customized stacked containers were created housing a Nike iD lab where you can customize onsite plus see all that’s coming out for the holiday season.
We got our sweat on with Canadian Master Trainer, Eva Redpath, giving our Hyperwarm gear a run for its money. Thankfully it worked wonders, even made us break a crazy sweat at 6am. As we were doing our final killer throwdown we were surprised by Canadian tennis champion, Genie Bouchard! She gave us the final push to get us through.
When we were done I quickly toweled off and got the amazing opportunity to interview Genie.
Here’s what we chatted about:
Nike.com is finally in Canada how exciting?!:
I know! I love online shopping and the fact that Nike is now able to deliver to Canada is a great feature that they’ve finally added.
I’ve heard you’ve created some sick shoes with Nike iD which is now also available to Canadians, tell us about your designs:
I made two, an Air Force 1 Low ID and an AIR MAX 2015 ID. I did the Air Force in a really nice red with a red camo and on the sides put Genie Army in honor of my fans because they call themselves The Genie Army.
When you’re not playing tennis what is your workout regime in the off season, AKA the winter:
Although I play outside all year round, I am from Canada and the season change makes it a bit more difficult to play. I run, hike and do agility workouts but as you know it gets cold here so it’s important to stay warm to avoid injury. Nike has amazing gear to help stay warm like the Hyperwarm tights and the Aeroloft jacket that I’m wearing right now, that are not only functional but also really cute.
If you’re around downtown Toronto totally go check out the popup! Log in HERE to register.
Check out Nike.com to see all that you can now order to your doorstep.
