As I was working on a blog post, I was (simultaneously) daydreaming about travelling and going back to Barcelona – a city I have been to, fallen in love with and would go back to in a heart beat!
I asked the team, “If you could go back to any place in the world that you’ve already been to, where would it be and why”
Today we take you back to some of our favourite places around the world
In 2009 I travelled to Morocco just weeks after graduating college. I packed my bags and flew to Casablanca, then got in a small bus with two tour guides. Luckily for me we didn’t run into language barriers because my guides spoke french ! I started in casablanca and made my way all around Morocco. I toured one of the top tanneries in the world and rode camels in the dessert for a week while I slept under the stars. My trip lasted 30 days and it was an amazing experience. I would definitely do it again to revisit the sites and take more photographs!
I went to Barcelona on a whim in the summer of 2013. I was in France on a summer abroad program and decided to extend my trip and stay an extra month in Europe. It just so happened that my cousins were in Portugal, so after taking a flight to drop off all my stuff in Portugal, I was booked on another flight within hours of arriving and headed to Barcelona. My cousin and I were on a mission and saw in a few days, what would take most a week or two. I fell in love with the city and would go back in a heart beat! The food, the architecture (Antoni Gaudi) the culture and the city- I loved it!
Martina: “Traveling is like flirting with life. It’s like saying, ‘I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.” – Lisa St. Aubin de Teran.
One place that really sticks out in my memory for somewhere I’d love to revisit would have to be Jamaica. I went a few years ago on a family vacation and we had such an amazing time. I like a place with adventure and Jamaica provided it all. We shared incredible food, had the most wonderful driver (shout out to Luciano!) take us to all of the local favourites, and incredible beaches with all of the pineapple and coconut drinks you could ask for! The people were incredibly friendly and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. I would have to say that climbing and experiencing Dunn’s River Falls was the most memorable part of the trip. The falls were beautiful, fun, and even a little scary; a national treasure for sure and a great exploration for our vacation. Jamaica has the perfect balance of relaxation and excursions for your more adventurous side, hope to revisit ASAP!
