Travel Tuesday: Top 5 New York City Sweet Stops

Top 5 NY bake shops Header

Aside from the fact that I am in love with New York City as a whole; the hustle and bustle of the city, Central Park, the pretty buildings and structures, dining, and night life, I must say it houses some of the best bakeries around the globe. Here is a list of my top five favourite sweet stops that you will find in The Big Apple!

Levain Bakery
1. Levain Bakery

If you adore cookies just as much as I do, this is the absolute best little baker’s joint nestled in the Upper West Side of the city! They have four feature flavour cookies: chocolate chip walnut, oatmeal raisin, dark chocolate chocolate chip, and dark chocolate peanut butter chip. No matter which one you choose, they are equally as large, chewy and delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

2. Laduree

Laduree is the prettiest little upscale Parisian tea room and bakery located in Soho, selling some of the yummiest macaroons ever! Walking into this little sweet stop you almost feel as if you are getting a taste of Paris. Laduree originated in Paris, France selling the most sought after macaroons. Not to mention, their packaging is extremely intricate and beautiful!

3. Magnolia Bakery

From cakes to cupcakes, cookies, coffee and everything in between, Magnolia bakery is your one stop sweet shop! It is a classic American bakery with a warm and inviting vintage feel to it. It originated in New York City and has now expanded to locations all over the world with its popularity and high demand!

4. Amy’s Bread

I took a stop off at the Hell’s Kitchen location and let’s just say this teal blue bake shop cannot go missed! All of their goods are hand-made, as it is an artisanal bakery. They sell delicious freshly baked breads, sandwiches, pastries, sweets, healthy salads, and more. Overall, Amy’s Bread gives off a super cozy cafe/bakery style vibe!

The Donut Pub #1, New York, NY, 2013

5. The Donut Pub

You definitely “donut” want to miss this donut spot! Aside from the show stopping neon signage decorating its front door step, you will find delicious old-fashioned donuts like honey dipped and honey crullers, all the way to decorative donuts covered in sprinkles, coconuts, bacon, and drizzle!

No matter which sweet stop you decide to visit, your sweet cravings will definitely be satisfied. Have any New York City bakery fave’s or suggestions that we did not mention? Let us know!
