Restaurants We Love: Maman Toronto

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maman, a southern France inspired bakery cafe for their Maman à table- a prix-fixe menu offered every Friday from 11:30am-2:00pm. Their Maman à table menu comes with a choice of two starters, a choice of three mains and mini treats that are like little pillows of heaven. This prix-fixe menu started outdoors this summer and since the weather has (unfortunately) been dropping, they have moved it indoors to the coziest cafe that leaves you feeling like you are in the south of France.

I started off with their almond latte (because coffee first) and being (a bit) of a coffee snob, I was very impressed. Their coffee is perfect! Plus, they come in the most beautiful mugs and to go cups that remind me of the south of Portugal where every building is covered in their traditional blue and white tiles.

I couldn’t choose one starter so I had two- the deconstructed avocado toast and the gazpacho and they were so yummy! All of their ingredients are locally sourced and everything is made fresh to order. Their commitment to quality is what makes Maman a go-to cafe.

For my main, I had their daily quiche, which on this day was kale and sweet potato (two of my favourite things) and it was amazing!

I finished with a trio of their freshly baked treats- the perfect end to an amazing meal.

If you’re looking for an fresh and yummy lunch, coffee and or something sweet, be sure to visit Maman – located at 100 King St. W (in the heart of the financial district) on the mezzanine of First Canadian place.
