The Latest Fall Trends And How To Wear Them

Right about now all we hear about are sweaters and boots, right? But there’s so much more to fall fashion than that! Don’t forget about the layer everyone sees the most when it gets chilly (your coat), or styles that traditionally mean summer but can be completely adapted for fall (like dresses). Read on to find out more about the fall trends that have come back, a little reinvented, and that will keep you looking your chicest.

Faux Fur

I know, you hear faux fur, and you think it’s a little extra, right? Au contraire, my friend: faux fur can be as tame or as extra as you want it to be. Wanna be extra? Go for a leopard print, or a bright neon. Wanna be tame? Go for a neutral like camel or black. The best part about wearing a show-stopping coat is that the rest of the outfit can be a no-brainer. Jeans, t-shirt, ankle boots, and you’re done!

Dark Florals

If you were all about the florals for summer (who wasn’t, really?), then this trend is for you. Before you run out the door to find your new favourite floral-print dress, though, see if any of the ones you own are transitional, i.e. not too bright. Throw a cozy open cardigan over it and pair it with your go-to knee-high boots, and you’re good to go!

This high-shine trend is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re willing to don a faux fur coat, then I also see vinyl in your future. If you’re not about the shiny things in life, though, take this post as encouragement to experiment with other textures instead! Velvet, corduroy (a classic), wool, you name it, and your wardrobe will feel refreshed.
