I used to think having to enforce a ‘date night’ was corny. That dates with your partner should just come naturally and thus are more romantic and less forced. But ‘life’ has a funny way of expanding and taking up all of the space and time you allow it to take up. Enter owning your own business and having children: date nights quickly become a blissful memory of the past and your old idea of anything coming naturally (without a scheduled plan) is now just a hilarious notion of life without real responsibility.
But, let’s be honest, a life without dates just generally sucks. Remembering the reason why you’re with your partner and connecting with them (and just them) for even a few magical moments is just the kind of thing all couples need to keep the fire burning. I was reminded of this when I went to the Dr. Oetker Cioccolato’s Ristorante Pop-Up just a few weeks ago. The room was all romantic with smells of delicious chocolate wafting through the air. While I was there, indulging on their delicious chocolate pizza, I really wished I had brought my boyfriend. I swore I would recreate a little bit of the pop-up’s magical moments for him and I when the pizzas hit the stores.
Just last night, when H was in bed and Jimmy was finishing up a call with work, I quietly set up a little nook for a quick date night in. I threw down some throws, lit some candles, popped some champagne and tossed the Ristorante Cioccolato Pizza in the oven for a quick bake. By the time he was done his call, our romantic little escape was all set up and we were able to unwind for a few moments of quiet connection and a little delicious indulgence – just what every burgeoning relationship needs!
Date nights can get tragically complicated – especially in the winter when going out after a long day seems to be more than a chore. If you’re craving some time with your significant other, might I suggest keeping it simple and snuggling up for a simple, yet romantic, date night in? Ristorante Cioccolato Pizza might just be the thing to get those sparks flying – you do know what they say about chocolate…
By the way, you can find Ristorante Cioccolato Pizza where you find all other Dr Oetker’s yummy pizzas: in your grocer’s frozen pizza section! Grab one on your next grocery run, and share with your SO.
xx,
Coco
P.S. if you really want to get wild, add a scoop of ice cream and thank me later. *bliss*
