With the warmer weather quickly approaching, we can’t help but obsess with all things #travel over here at the Cowe. While working on the ultimate travel guides to help you figure out where to stay, what to see, where to shop and what to eat in all your favourite travel destinations, we thought we’d share a cute teaser on what’s to come. Planning a New York City itinerary can be intimidating with the overwhelming amount of things to do, restaurants to choose from and sights to see. It’s hard to know where to start! Cue Cowe. We’ve gathered our top ten spots in the Big Apple, to ensure you make the most of your weekend getaway!
Jack’s Wife Freda:
Chances are, you’ve seen some quality avocado toast shots on your Instagram feed at Jack’s Wife Freda. So it will come as no surprise to see this spot at the top of our list for best brunch spots in NYC. With a lived-in feel, the American-Mediterranean grub hub is known for its personalized sugar packets and delish cuisine. Whether you pop by for a drink at the bar or stay for brunch, you will not be disappointed.
Address: 50 Carmine St / 224 Lafayette St, New York, NY
While We Were Young:
The cutest, most IG worthy spot for the kitchen or its custom cocktails. This restaurant serves up healthy, contemporary, all-American dishes and unique, craft cocktails. While We Were Young’s interior will have you “oohing and aahing”, as you achieve #foodgoals. Decorated with baby blue barstools, pink banquettes, and scattered red and mauve rose petals, this resto is something to write home about.
Address: 183 W 10th St, New York, NY
Pies and Thighs: On the topic of brunch (when should brunch ever not be the topic of conversation?), we had to include a spot that is worth the mish to good ol’ Brooklyn. You’ve never had chicken and waffles quite like these, and their biscuits are fluffy perfection too. N.B.: Get here early! This famous “family style” diner fills up quickly!
Address: 166 S 4th St, Brooklyn, NY
Prince Street Pizza:
Let’s keep this short and sweet… Best. Pizza. Ever. Need we say more? If you need a little more than that to persuade you to check out this walk-in pizza joint, maybe ask one of the 200 celebrities that have stopped by for a slice (they can all be seen in a picture covering the walls of the famous pizzeria).
Address: 27 Prince St A, New York, NY
Refinery Rooftop:
With a year round rooftop lounge and awesome views of the Empire State Building, this upscale rooftop bar should be your first destination of the night! Cheers while taking in New York’s beautifully lit skyline, and sipping from their generous list of classic, crafted cocktails that surely do not disappoint- confirmed by yours truly!
Address: 63 W 38th St, New York, NY
Galli:
The contrast between delicious, traditional Italian cuisine and the urban rustic feel of exposed brick and trendy interior will have you just as obsessed with this place as we are. Their contagious hip-hop / R&B soundtrack pairs perfectly with the craft cocktails served up in this great space. Galli will have you throwing your “only one drink” mind set out the window!
Address: 45 Mercer St, New York, NY
The High Line:
The High Line in NYC is a must. A 1.45 mile long park, greenway and rail trail enables you to walk along the west side of Manhattan and enjoy the most breath-taking experience possible, passing by beautiful pieces of art and getting a little taste of all the beauty NYC has to offer.
The Chelsea Market:
With a great industrial ambiance, The Chelsea Market is a paradise of indoor food options that will make you want to stop at every local meat and cheese spot. While tasting your way through the market, you’ll come across the cutest little shops filled with handmade beauty products, the best of NYC’s vintage one-of-a-kind finds and beautiful, original artwork.
Address: 75 9th Ave, New York, NY
The Vintage Twin:
Because… who wouldn’t want to shop at Bella Hadid’s favourite vintage store, in the Big Apple? Along with the unique, hard to find pieces, each of their locations feature a “Denim Bar” which is like drowning in vintage Levi’s (basically heaven).
Address: 543 Broadway, New York, NY (Side note: Their locations always change in the city as it is pop up style, so always check location before, just to be sure where they are!)
The Meatpacking District:
One of our favourites over here at the Cowe. With the district’s trendy and hip vibe, the cobblestone streets are filled with upscale restaurants and boutiques to satisfy all your shopping needs (or maybe even just a stroll by the water that happens to include a #goals like candid for the gram!).
Address: Meatpacking District, New York, NY
