Prepare yourself for one of the best desserts you’ve ever had in your life. No lie, this is the easiest thing in the world to make and it’s a crowd pleaser. Seriously, there’s nobody on earth who doesn’t like this. Now, let me be fully transparent here, this is not my recipe, it’s an old friend’s Grandmother’s recipe. Don’t be tempted to swap butter for margarine, or low fat cream cheese for regular cream cheese. Grandma knows best.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 9 x 13 inch baking pan
- 2 mixing bowls
- Hand Mixer
- Silicone Spatula
- 2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 2 packs Dream Whip (you’ll need milk and vanilla extract for this)
- Two 8 oz blocks regular cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
In a medium size bowl stir together Graham cracker crumbs and brown sugar then stir in butter. Mix all of that buttery goodness together so that it’s a teeny bit sticky. It should be wet enough that it’s crumbly but holds together if you press it down with your hands. Butter a 9×13 inch baking pan, then using your hands or a silicone spatula press mixture into bottom of pan.
Prepare Dream Whip according to package instructions and set aside. Do NOT substitute for real whipped cream in this recipe. You won’t get the same results. Trussssst me.
Place cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and continue beating until blended, then add Dream Whip and beat until well combined.
Pour mixture into prepared Graham cracker base and smooth out using the silicone spatula. Cover with plastic wrap and then throw that bad boy into the fridge for an hour, or overnight, until chilled.
If you want to get fancy dancy, you can grab a can of canned cherries, strawberries or blueberries to top it with before serving.
And that’s it — I’ve now made you a superstar for your next potluck, so you’re welcome.
A really fun hack if you want to make the presentation cuter, you can make these in individual mini mason jars.
