Cleo’s Fall Beauty Must Haves

Hi friends!

I don’t actually know if I’ve ever done an actual beauty roundup for the blog, but hey, there’s a first time for everything! For whatever reason, I’ve been a bit of a product junkie through quarantine and I’ve found some stuff that’s been pretty good. Full transparency, some of this stuff was sent to me and some of it I bought on my own. Read on for my top five Fall must haves.

Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara Plus Lash Primer: Ohhhh Emmmm Geeee!!!! I am in LOVE with this mascara and primer — sheesh. It is magnificent all around and when I tell you it makes your lashes insanely long, I mean it. It doesn’t flake, it’s buildable and it doesn’t irritate the eyes. Here’s an up-close photo of my lashes with this mascara on for context… you’re welcome. Go buy this immediately.

NYX Lingerie Gloss: I’ve been a NYX girl from jump and this specific gloss is no different. Euro Trash is my favourite colour in this line and for me it’s just right. It’s slightly darker than my natural lip colour, and the consistency is perfect. It’s not too sticky but also not too thin where it rubs off in a few minutes. This is for sure my 6th or 7th tube of this gloss and I’ll never let it go. The best part is that it’s incredibly affordable and comes in under $10.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear and Pro Filt’r Hydrating Long-Wear Foundations: Full disclosure, I don’t usually wear foundation on a day to day basis, but I was sent these products and because I love me some Rihanna, I decided to give them a try. This is no secret but they absolutely oxidize and get darker when you put them on — so keep that in mind if you’re selecting colours online. I tried them both and I really liked the hydrating long-wear one because it’s season change and my skin is D R Y right now. It wasn’t too extra in the sense that I put it on and it evened out my skin tone, but it definitely looked like I was wearing makeup. What I especially liked about it was that I only put it on the perimeter of my face and it still worked; I usually don’t put foundation on my nose or cheeks because I really love my freckles and hate covering them, so I just used what was left on my Fenty sponge and dabbed it, in those areas and it was enough to make it look even. The soft matte one was a good match colour-wise, but too dry for my skin right now. I am going to keep it and try it again in the summer though.

Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick in Retro Rose: When I tell you that this is the perfect cross between a lip balm and a lipstick, I truly mean it. I am obsessed with this formula, the colour, the consistency, EVERYTHING. I love me a good ass lip balm, but sometimes I want a smidge of colour; but the thing is, I also don’t always want to wear lipstick because it’s too much. This product is exactly in between those two things and I don’t ever leave home without it. I’m wearing it in this photo… and if this isn’t evidence enough for you, I don’t know what is!!

That’s it for now friends — let me know what else I should be trying because I’m totally open to your suggestions this season!

xx
