#RenewYou: Health + Wellness

TGIF, Cowes!

This week is the finale of our #RenewYou series, we’re revisiting the topic of health and wellness because as we all know, you glow from the inside out.

ICYMI, catch our last three weeks of #RenewYou by clicking the prompts below:

Now, back to health and wellness, start with the following guidance and take from it whatever makes you feel best!

It’s A Lifestyle

Coco is in the thick of her #FallReset and just completed 21 days of clean eating and no alcohol. It sounds scary but when you take it one day at a time, you will start feeling the difference in making these decisions. Coco’s list also includes daily movement, excessive hydration (you always need to drink more water than you think), eliminating refined sugar and finally, picking up a book! You also don’t need to do everything at once but for us, here at The Cowe, we find it easier to go cold turkey than to have to keep “starting over again”- can you relate?

Honestly, if we can even challenge you (+ each other) to be more mindful with the food we choose and consume, you’ll slowly shift your perspective and in turn, start listening to your body more than ever before. However, this is a choice you have to make.

Dry October (or some sort of break from alcohol)

Our team loves tequila more than anyone else in the world. After this Summer of freedom, our liver was asking for help LOL. We found a real love for sparkling water as we took a few days off alcohol, flavoured Perrier saved our lives and continues to.

My Fitness Pal

We have a love/hate relationship with this app. But it really is great for getting (back) on track! We don’t encourage counting calories but inputting your food is a good way to just acknowledge what you’re eating and how much of it you’re eating. It also allows you to set goals when you sign up and you can change your goals as you go on.

12-3-30

Ladies, if your struggle with cardio is real, ease in with a 12-3-30 session, it’s a great way to get your heart rate up while not feeling like total death. For those unaware, it’s a it’s a treadmill session where you’re walking at a 12% incline, 3.0 speed, and 30 minutes on the clock. The first five minutes, you’ll find yourself saying, this isn’t so bad but by the end you’ll be feeling tension in your legs and booty.

Nike Run Club

Tried, true and tested. The Nike run club app is great for outdoor runs and if you’re on the tread, it works just as well if you’re looking to track a challenge aside from the treadmill stats granted after you complete your cool down. We also love creating and following challenges via NRC, it’s so motivating to see your kilometer count increase with every session and you can add other “friends” on the app to motivate each other.

To level up your tracking and challenges, if you’re feeling like splurging, invest in an Apple Watch. It’s one of our favourite purchases to date, honestly! You can track daily movement, steps, sleep, and so much more! Probably one of the most convenient tools to track your daily life. It’s also super convenient as we get back to our on the go lifestyle, since you can view messages and take calls straight from your watch.

Are you feeling inspired to get your health back on track?

xx
