My Dad is always the smartest guy in the room but he’s too humble to ever make you feel that. He’s the kind of guy that manners matter to, the one who puts everyone first. He’s the one who leads with his heart and would give his last penny and the shirt off his back to anyone in need. There hasn’t been a time that I’ve been with him that he hasn’t taken a pause to verbally acknowledge his gratitude for us as a family. His love to simply have the ability to sit quietly with the ones he loves will forever be my guiding light because as someone who has fought for his success in a way that many of us mere mortals could never stomach, he truly understands that the meaning of life is simply to love and be loved. 🌼💙 Happy International Picnic Day 🌼💙 With things slowly starting to open up and the weather being beautiful, what better way to celebrate than with a little picnic action. As you know I am forever on the hunt for joy and nothing makes me happier than hosting and making it pretty so we went a little over the top for our backyard get together. Though I typically like to cook, this week was incredibly busy so I popped over to my fave local spot @summerhillmkt for prepared tea sammies, fresh rolls, dips, chips and some fruits and veggies. The prepared food selection at Summerhill is legit and if you’re headed to the park, cotty, your backyard, porch or even the spot right in front of your couch, they’ve got you covered. Because we wanted to get a little fancy we rented beautiful place settings and glassware from our friends at @splendidsettings who totally carried out our blue and white theme with rattan accents. Renting tableware definitely is not necessary but when I tell you I miss doing events, I really mean it. Plus I’m not sure I could be more bored with the white dishes I’ve eaten off of every day for the last year and a half.
