Though I accept the challenge from so many dope, inspiring, intelligent women like @shannonnadj @deana.nastic @cheryl_napao @irisknowsbest I was inspired by @allield to keep our eyes, hearts and minds with those woman who’s chance to shine has been snuffed out by the law in the most unlawful way.

Let us not forget Breonna Taylor, a 26 year emergency medical technician who was murdered in her home by Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove on March 13, 2020. These men still walk free. For the true empowerment of women we must fight for Black women. We must fight for justice for Breonna Taylor and all of the countless others. #challengeaccepted

I have learned this lesson moving through hard thi

I have learned this lesson moving through hard things and it has been a major source of strength. It was actually on an episode of the podcast Without Fail where film producer Nina Jacobson speaks on writing your ‘failure resume’. The idea being that there is a direct connection to your biggest wins after a massive loss or failure. That you learn way more from a failure than you do from a success.

Though it can be incredibly frustrating to ‘lose’ at something, it is usually a catalyst for something pretty amazing.

Perspective is a beautiful thing.

Shoutout to our kids. This time of twisted routine

Shoutout to our kids. This time of twisted routines, digital classrooms and minimal interaction has been tricky for us adults but I can only imagine doubly difficult you little guys. Thank you for your resilience. Your excitement in even the smallest things. Thank you for your patience and your growing interest and input in the grownup things (read: our jobs) that you have now become unofficial board members of.

These times have been trying but as I look back I wouldn’t trade all of the special moments I’ve been afforded being forced to slow down and spend all my time with you.

PS shoutout to us. LOL parenting during Covid has been a trip! 🤣

The flowers are gone now but the memories will be with us forever.

Google reminded me that this time last year we had our second miscarriage. It was a dark time but we made it through, Jimmy doing the heavy lifting to keep me positive and grateful. We got some more bad news last week on our fertility journey, but we also have each other and so much to be happy for.

I say this not to bring you down or look for sympathy but rather to remind you that even in all of this beauty, nothing is perfect. That bad comes with the good and most importantly to remind you to look for the love not for the perfection.

Maybe one of you needed to be acknowledged today. Maybe one of you needed a little love. I’m here to send you that, these flowers are for you too. ♥️ 💐 #ilysm
