Divorce was the hardest thing I have gone through in my life. It was a knife with a serrated blade that twisted and sliced with every step. I was with Harlowe’s dad for 14 years and the unraveling was a special kind of torturous heartbreak. But there was love there, and flash forward five years since the breakdown, that love is what made us find a way to not only be great friends but partners in business and most importantly parents to our girl Harlowe. Today on the podcast we talk with my ex @bradjlamb and get real and talk openly about how we made co-parenting work. How Brad leaves his ego at work and how I moved past the past to realize a beautiful new relationship with him. We talk pre-nups, finding new love and how when the joint focus is our child, everyone wins. Our story can’t be true for everyone but it’s ours and we hope that in sharing we provide more openness and conversation around divorce and the possibility that life can still be perfect in its imperfection. #conversationswithcocoandfriends

✨ TODAY ON CWC + FRIENDS ✨ @cleoellis_, @peeadams and I sat down and chatted pre SECOND lockdown. We took the hour to check in with ourselves to see where we were at. It felt good to go back and forth about how our perspectives have changed since before COVID hit, what we rely on to get through what seems to be the darkest of days, how I overcame the blame game in my relationship, and how we can even think of dreaming up ideas while staring at the same four walls. These times have taught us to be more in tune with ourselves and for me, focus on my relationships. I don't think I've ever done more communicating in my life and it has proven to be very challenging and rewarding all at once. I’m discovering me all over again (as strange as that may seem) and working hard to not just allow myself to be bulldozed but to also be open to many sides of everyone’s stories.

This is your reminder to check in with yourself, to be kind to yourself even when it seems easier to put yourself down, to acknowledge and reflect on your feelings, and know that it's O-K to feel sad, angry, frustrated, lonely, confused and just generally pissed off.

I'm not saying it gets any easier, but after listening to today's episode, I promise you'll feel a little less alone.
